Welcome to the LGBTQ Game Archive, documenting the history of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer content in digital games (we have separated a list of analog games but that is not a primary focus of this project). This website is the ongoing research project of Adrienne Shaw, a faculty member at Temple University’s Lew Klein College of Media and Communication. Previous work on this project is funded in part by a grant from Refiguring Innovation in Games (ReFig) funded by the SSHRC in Canada and Temple University’s Digital Scholarship Center (now the Loretta C. Duckworth Scholar’s Studio). We lack the capacity to accept volunteer help at this time, but will be posting ways you can help here in the coming year.

In Fall 2024 Adrienne Shaw created a long form infographic highlighting key moments in LGBTQ+ Game and US History and main numbers from research published from this archive in recent years. It is available here.

In 2018-2019 we collaborated on with the Schwules Museum in Berlin, Germany on an exhibit of queer game history!

For more information on this project please check out our “about” page and for more information on who the “we” referred to throughout this site please see this page.
