Steambot Chronicles, a Japanese action-adventure role-playing game, was designed by Irem Software for PlayStation 2. The game opens with a personality quiz. How a player answers determines a character’s traits and social interactions. Next, switching gears, a young man named Vanilla awakes with shipwreck-related amnesia on Seagull Beach with a chipper new companion, Coriander. Coriander is picking herbs for invalid mother, and her path home is blocked by a fallen boulder. The duo takes refuge in a nearby cottage full of negative associations for Coriander. Action of the game continues as Vanilla attempts to escort Coriander home.
