Designers at Capcom behind Resident Evil developed and published action role-playing video game Dragon’s Dogma for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012. In addition to hack and slash and survival horror elements, Dragon’s Dogma has an open world fantasy setting. Players choose between controling a fighter, strider, mage, warrior, mystic knight, ranger, assassin, sorcerer, and magic archer. Their character is proclaimed “the chosen one” and has their heart ripped out by a dragon. Without a heart, the hero is resurrected and must find, then kill, the dragon.
