Rogue Legacy requires players to investigate a randomly generated dungeon, conquer four bosses in each unique environment within the dungeon, and then take down the main overlord. Upon a character’s death resulting from the depletion of all Hit Points (HP), operation of the character is shifted to the auto generated heir of the player’s choice. Each heir possesses their own unique traits, such as ADHD, color-blindness, and dwarfism. There is currently a total of 37 known traits.
