Stardew Valley is a 2016 farming simulation videogame and a spiritual successor to the Harvest Moon series. The player assumes the role of a created character that inherits a farm from their recently deceased grandfather. Players are free to use said farmland to grow crops, as well as several other activities including interacting with NPC’s, going fishing, and exploring the town’s mines.
