Like the television show, The Walking Dead: The Game is an episodic drama adventure based on Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comic book series set in Georgia immediately following the onset of a zombie apocalypse. However, the characters are unique to the game and not shared with the books or the TV series. The plot follows professor and convicted murderer Lee Everett and the young girl he rescues and cares for, Clementine. The game consists of five episodes. Rather than stress puzzle solving to navigate the game, The Walking Dead emphasizes the player’s choices and their impact on story and character development. Gameplay is given shape and direction by the user’s dialogue as well as actions in life or death quick time events.
