In Animal Crossing: Wild World, opposite-gender haircuts first became available to players. If players got all haircuts available to their selected gender, they would then be given the option to get opposite-gender haircuts from Harriet at her Shampoodle salon. Since Wild World, opposite-gender haircuts have remained available, becoming easier to obtain in each new installment, with any haircut becoming available to players regardless of gender or style in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
