Jack Morrison, or Soldier: 76, is one of Overwatch’s playable characters. He was founder and head of Overwatch during its height, but was presumed dead in a fight with co-founder Gabriel Reyes. Afterwards, he took on the identity of Soldier: 76 to fight off the grid against Overwatch’s previous aggressors. His abilities involve superhuman speed and various stolen Overwatch technology. In the short story Bastet (2019), it was revealed Jack had an ex-boyfriend named Vincent. Michael Chu, Overwatch’s lead writer, later confirmed he is gay.
Evan is the prince of Sarona, a kingdom known for its barbaric king and its powerful church. Tako met him in Belys as the prince has fled his country due to the actions of his father. After following and observing Tako for awhile, they make an alliance to go to Sarona’s castle in order to end the war between octopi and humans.
Along the way, Evan confesses to Tako about why he fled the country. He was raised to become a warlord but was more interested in the arts. He fell in love with his art teacher, saying implicitly that he is gay. When his father learned about it, he sentenced the man to death, and killed him in front of his son. Evan was always protected by his older sister, but when she went missing, he fled from Sarona.
The second great human country, Ydor, is the kingdom of art. Much more open minded than its neighbor Sarona, you can see openly gay couples, statues of naked men, and drag queens.
There is a steam achievement when playing this game called, “This is my hair, I don’t wear wigs,” that you can unlock if you speak to the drag queen wearing the wig hat, which is a reference to an Alaska Thunderfuck song.
Lewis Finch was the firstborn and the first son of Sanjay Kumar and Dawn Finch, and the older brother of Milton and Edith. One month before his 22nd birthday, Lewis died by committing suicide from putting his head into an automated guillotine at the fish cannery he worked at after months of struggling with a mental disorder.
During a scene in the game where his psychiatrist tells Dawn in a letter about his mental disorder, the player sails a ship and has two routes as options to sail down. One reads “Beautiful Prince” and the other reads “Handsome Queen”. Depending on which path the player takes, Lewis imagines being crowned by either, and the game refers to them as his prince/queen, inferring that this prince/queen is a possible love interest for Lewis (found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCcxXA4lWOc).
Mondo Owada and Kiyotaka (Taka) Ishimaru are two teens trapped inside Hope’s Peak Academy and forced to play the Killing Game. There is a scene in the second chapter of the game where Mondo and Taka compete with each other by seeing who can bare the heat the longest in the sauna. Upon waking up the next morning, the player character, Makoto Naegi, finds that Mondo and Taka have grown especially close because of their newfound “manly bond” (found here and here).
Some fans have queerly read this as the two characters engaging in gay/queer activity of some kind.
