The Guild Wars series builds the history of Tyria, a fictional fantasy world. In this setting, players select an avatar to play through a cooperative campaign, assuming the point of view of a hero who must protect Tyria from episode-specific villains. Players can form alliances with other players and non-player characters, known as henchmen and heroes, to execute missions throughout the game-world.
