The Sylvari are a humanoid plant race that do not reproduce sexually, but they still have romantic relationships with each other, through which they may pursue someone of any gender. In Guild Wars 2, the player has the option of choosing a Sylvari character as their avatar. If the player selects “The Green Knight” during storyline generation, they embark on a quest after the prologue where they are tasked with saving a young gay Sylvari couple (Eladus and Dagdar). The player saves Eladus from death at the hand of The Green Knight, and the couple can be seen together in various other segments of the chapter. This Let’s Play video discusses the lore surrounding the Sylvari race.
