Magical Diary is a visual novel video game that follows the story of the playable character as a young freshman girl at Iris Academy, a magical school. The female main character is able to date both/either of her female roommates, Virginia Danson and Ellen Middleton, kiss another girl who is not a romantic option, and many of the characters are able to be in romantic relationships with people of different genders. Like other Hanako Games titles, the same sex romantic interest isn’t treated as unusual or surprising by any of the characters.
