Marie in Heileen: Sail Away

Heileen: Sail Away follows the adventures of Heileen, a young noble girl, as she travels to the New World. She is accompanied by Marie (her childhood best friend) and John (a handsome sailor), both being potential love interests for Heileen. Through the player’s choices, it is possible for Heileen and Marie to explicitly end up together, though this ending is harder to achieve than John and Heileen or a more implicit Lora and Heileen ending. If the player embarks down the storyline with Marie as Heileen’s love interest, events like Marie attempting to commit suicide are framed as her feeling lonely and longing for Heileen despite the circumstances. Marie is also represented as having a crush on a male character in the game.
