Cloth and Nola in Hollow Knight

Cloth is an NPC wanderer in Hollow Knight who set out to Hallownest to prove her courage by defeating mighty creatures. However, she can be quite cowardly at times. She is motivated to die in an epic battle to join her departed lover, Nola.

Nola’s gender is not revealed in-game and has not been revealed by developers. Some fans have read Cloth and Nola’s relationship to be queer, as Nola seems to be a feminine name. It’s also worth noting that Cloth was originally pitched as male during Hollow Knight’s Kickster campaign.
