Julia is an ostritch islander with a snooty personality in the Animal Crossing series. She initially appears in Animal Forest e+, the Japan-exclusive update to the Animal Crossing GameCube game, but as part of the Welcome Amiibo update, returned to the series in New Leaf. Julia can also be found in the mobile game, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.
Fans have speculated that Julia resembles a peacock despite being classified as an ostritch. This is because the coloring of her feathers resembles a peacock’s, but specifically a male peacock’s feathers. This has led fans to queerly read Julia as an amab (assigned male at birth) trans woman, but other fans have noted that the series miscolors many other animals with its various villagers.
This leads to a classification of Queerly Read and Trans Implicit.
