Blanca is a recurring cat character in the Animal Crossing series that asks players to draw them a face, and ‘hosts’ April Fool’s Day in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Similar to Gracie and Saharah, Blanca is a female character in non-Japanese localizations, but is male in the Japanese games. Blanca is also identified as male by the official Japanese website for Animal Crossing: City Folk. The description for Blanca on the website says something along the lines of, “eh, are you a man?” Also, despite being female in non-Japanese localizations, Blanca has a distinct lazy/jock voice in Wild World, City Folk, and New Leaf, both of which are male personality types. Blanca has yet to appear in the newest game to the series, Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
