Same-Sex Relationship Hack in Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates

Fire Emblem Awakening is the eleventh game in the strategic role-playing Fire Emblem game series and was released exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS. The player character is customizable and canonically suffers from amnesia which lessens as the story progresses. Players have debated the pros and cons of adding same-sex options to the Fire Emblem relationship system, referencing queer readings of earlier titles (see Fire Emblem entries in the archive). In response to the lack of same-sex relationship options in Fire Emblem Awakening, UnassumingVenasaur, a fan of the game, designed a game hack/modification that adds same sex marriage options as well the ability for same-sex couples to have children.

UnassumingVenasaur also designed a game hack/modification that does the same things as the Awakening hack, but for Fire Emblem Fates.
