Kaede Akamatsu is one of the students trapped inside the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and forced to take part in the Killing School Semester. Throughout her dialogue, she comments on other girls’ bodies, calling Tsumigi Shirogane sexy and Tenko Chabashira cute (seen in her Chapter 1 dialogue on the Danganronpa Fandom Wiki’s Quotes section for her).

This has led to queer readings of her as being lesbian or bisexual.
