In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, there are explicit mentions of same-sex relationships. In this video, Merry, a Peppy villager, tells the player about a comic with two princesses who are in love. To our knowledge, this can occur with any Peppy villager. If you have screenshots/evidence of this happening with other personality types, please feel free to let us know.
Additionally, multiple fans have queerly read certain content, such as this letter from Bonbon, a Peppy villager who wants to impress a female classmate, or this exchange between two villagers, Lionel and Tammy.
