Harlan Cunningham and Arend Schut Cunningham are both Assassins in the modern-day storyline of the Assassin’s Creed universe. First appearing in Assassin’s Creed III, Harlan Cunningham is a high-level Assassin based in Florence and a member of the Italian Brotherhood. Arend is a former MMA fighter and an operative of the Brotherhood based in Florance as well. In Assassin’s Creed: Rogue, it is revealed that Harlan and Arend faced homophobia as athletes growing up and they bonded over this after meeting through the Assassin Brotherhood. They are known to go on missions together and are quite protective of each other. The two got married at some point in 2015 according to the Assassin’s Creed: Initiates interactive website.
