Borderlands is an action-adventure first-person shooter RPG set in a fantasy world that blends sci-fi and western aesthetics. There are three main games in the series, each with multiple DLC options, as well as several spin-off titles. The games take place on the mysterious planet Pandora in a nebulous time period, driven by the overall goal of finding a mythical alien loot filled Vault. The protagonists have to fight bandits, other vault hunters, alien monsters, military mercenaries, and other obstacles throughout the game. Borderlands has received critical acclaim for its multiplayer co-op mode, randomized loot system, open-world design, and overall sense of humor.
